Jennifer Coolidgepraised her former costar Garrett Morris for his positive attitude on the set of2 Broke Girls.
While speaking at theSaturday Night Livealum’sHollywood Walk of Fame ceremonyon Thursday,The White Lotusstar, 62, shared how Morris reminded her to be grateful for her job on the CBS sitcom, which ran for six seasons from 2011 to 2017.
“I just wanted to say that beyond all of Garrett’s accomplishment, really his true gift is as a human being. I was on this sitcom with Garrett and I wasn’t very grateful,” she said of their time working together on2 Broke Girls. “And we had to pull into the Warner Brothers lot and I parked behind Garrett and I didn’t want to get out of the car, and I would wait until Garrett got out and he would come over to my side of my car door and he’d go, ‘Jennifer, how lucky are we?’ And I just thought, ‘Oh my God, here’s my opposite!’”

Coolidge said Morris — who starred as diner cashier Earl Washington on the series — is “someone who’s grateful for every moment.”
“He was so grateful to be an actor, so grateful to have the job. And he would always say that. And it never occurred to me,” she said with a laugh. “I mean, I was in my own head and it was just, you set such a good example, Garrett.”
TheLegally Blondeactressshared that she also appreciated his musical talents, saying, “He comes to New Orleans, he comes down to my Halloween party, and I got to see him sing with Charmaine Neville’s band down in New Orleans many times. He sings the blues better than anybody. So many great performances."

“You are a true gentleman, the most elegant gentleman I’ve ever met, and I’m so lucky to be here,” she told Morris. “I’m so lucky to speak and just tell you how much I love you, how much you mean to me, what a great friend you are, and just helping me look in the mirror and see my jaded view of something that you appreciated so much. And I really just love you for it.”
“You are the example of just… You are true class and eloquence, you’re elegant man. And I love you for that,” she added.

In addition to Morris and Coolidge,2 Broke Girlsalso starredKat DenningsandBeth Behrsas unlikely best friends Max and Caroline, who worked together at the diner, become roommates and tried to get their fledgling cupcake business off the ground. Coolidge played Zofia “Sophie” Kachinsky, the Polish woman who lived above Max and Caroline and owned a cleaning company.
