As Ardiles explains, “We created a functional yet warm and comfortable setting for Memphis and her parents. It’s a magical faraway place right at home.”

The lively room features many wildlife elements, including colorful walls with zebras, giraffes and more animals. There’s also a “super-soft” rug that the mom says is as “chic as it is whimsical.”

“When I was pregnant, Simon and I would often say that having a child is the ultimate act of optimism. And what becomes more and more evident to me is that love is the greatest fuel for optimism,” the author wrote at the time. “Love of people. Love of place (this incredible planet that holds us through it all). I am so grateful for this little piece of love that showed up in our lives on Monday and reminded us to remain optimistic and keep working for a better world for all of the babies we share it with.”
