The latest Apple patent has surfaced , and it appears they wish the musical theme ofsticking motion sensors in a keyboardso that user can pilot their room through OS X without a disjoined computer mouse / trackpad .
The patent hollo for a keyboard with four “ slot cameras ” around the perimiter of the keyboard , tracking all fingerbreadth movements . The keys themselves would more or less be the same . As for how these sensing element would be used , here ’s what MacRumors said :
The motion - sensitive area is implemented in this innovation with four “ slot cameras ” around the perimeter of the keyboard . These camera are be capable to track the user ’s finger front immediately above the keyboard to provide the common mouse or trackpad subroutine of cursor tracking and window scrolling .

Also in the letters patent is mention of a key that would toggle between shiner mode and keyboard mode , presumptively to avoid any inadvertent input . If this were actually made , would you give up your mouse / trackpad entirely ? [ PatentviaMacRumors ]
