Idris Elbaand Sabrina Dhowre had a high-fashion fairytale on their big day. The couple tied the knot in Morocco in head-to-toe designer custom creations.
PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive chose an Ozwald Boateng suit to say “I do” to his businesswoman/model wife, according toBritish Vogue.
Meanwhile, the bride went with a custom soft white draped silk crepe Vera Wang gown with off the shoulder sleeves that featured a hem with the words “This train carries no wrong do-ers” embroidered on it. (The quote is a romantic tribute to Elba’s tattoo.)
Dhowre’s stylist Law Roach, who also works withAriana Grande, Zendaya and Céline Dion, helped coordinate the wedding look, writing onInstagram: “@idriselba and @sabrinadhowre thank you for letting me apart of your special day!”
“Thank you for making me feel beautiful,” commented Dhowre, who wore a cathedral length light ivory tulle veil with hand placed macramé lace.
Dhowre recently celebrated her upcoming nuptials with a Utahbachelorette partywith a group ofgirlfriendsthat had all the essentials: guests wore robes with the words “Bride’s Squad” written across the back, cakes were decorated with the phrase “Future Mrs. Elba” and gift bags read “Team Bride” during the girls trip.
Elba and Dhowre became engaged in February 2018, when Elba dropped down on one knee during a screening of his directorial debut,Yardie.
“It was like two days before Valentine’s and I had this ring in my pocket, it was burning a hole,”he explained on theEllen DeGeneres Show. “And then Valentine’s came and she had to fly somewhere, so there was a likelihood I wasn’t going to see her on Valentine’s Day. So I made this movie, and Sab was on the set every day. She knew the whole crew. So at the screening, it was a private screening for the cast and crew, and I just dropped to one knee. It was very nerve-wracking.”
His quick-thinking proposal ended up going viral when a video from the screening was shared online.
“Yeah, I didn’t expect it to quite make British news and American news and Japanese news, for that matter,” Elba previously told PEOPLE, laughing. “It was quite a public affair. But it really wasn’t meant to be on the news.”
Despite saying it “was the most nerve-wracking thing for me ever” it was a was magical moment for Elba. “But in terms of wanting to make someone feel super special and feel my love, that was pretty romantic for me,” he told PEOPLE.

The couple began dating in 2017 when the metwhile he was making the filmThe Mountain Between Us.“Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special,” the actor told PEOPLE.
Idris explained that their “good chemistry” instantly connected them. “She makes me laugh and we share common goals. She makes me happy. She makes me celebrate my successes and when I’m not too sure about stuff, she makes me think.”
Elba was previously in a relationship with Naiyana Garth and she gave birth to their son Winston in 2014. The actor was previously married to makeup artist Hanne Norgaard from 1999 to 2003 and lawyer Sonya Hamlin for six months in 2006. Elba and Norgaard share a daughter, Isan, who is 17.
