Invest Infest
Even though the cicadas did not cooperate during the bug challenge a few week ago , they were more helpful for this prison term around . There were a few who were willing to model still on the tree in my front yard while I took pictures . As for the exposure , I used a gold reflector to bring more warm light into the image . I desaturated the bug and to recolored it using GIMP . I also add a faint , blurred layer to feign light reflected off of the gold Earth’s surface . Fujifilm s100fs — f/11 — 1/125″ — ISO100 — 31 millimetre — Velvia Film simulation

Bride
I was in India this past workweek attending my cousins wedding . This is a barb from the Nox before the factual union ceremonial occasion where the bride receives all of her bangles and jewelry . as luck would have it there was no need to post process any gold into the image as there ’s plenty of “ bling ” give ear from her wrists . Did some minor tweaking in Aperture and then used photoshop to isolate her Gold Jewelry . fool with a Canon 5D Mk II with a Canon 50 millimeter f1.4 electron lens at ISO 4000 , f2 and 1/50 shutter speed .

These guitars are really about 10 inches improbable :) I take a snapshot and worked on it to make one of the guitar Gold . Not easy ! Made of wood , so not a bright object , but at least it is one of many , which was one of the desired effect from the contest . I utilize Corel PaintShop Pro for redaction , and this exercise taught me a minute about layering with my software of choice . Windsurfer

After reading about this week ’s competition , I grab my camera , and run out of doors to take this photo , mean that a golden windsurf board would be cool . This was shot on a Canon T2i with the kit 18 - 55 mm lens , 55 mm focus , f/5.6 , 1/80th shutter speed .

tremendous entries . I know this was a unearthly challenge , but is n’t the effect really nerveless ? I think so , anyway , especially as the standard of the world ’s wealth — the very commodity that determines someone ’s place and capability in society — is so easily mime through a few second of photo redaction . Big images are up onflickr .
