One person is dead and two are hospitalized after a man opened fire at a luxury resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, on Friday. Police responded to reports of shots fired at the Hotel Xcaret on Friday afternoon, after a confrontation between hotel guests, Quintana Roo Chief of Police Lucio Hernandez Gutierrezsaid on social media. The condition of the other two tourists remains unclear at this time. The names of the victims have not been released....

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it was alerted to the incident near Paseo Del Mar around 4:30 a.m. Monday morning,according to KABC. PEOPLE has reached out to the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department and LAFD for comment. Avila said he and the three others went looking for the woman before they eventually slipped off the cliff themselves....
